Chapter 1356

“A hitman wouldn’t bother hiding his face,” Hannah explained. “He picked this mask because he didn’t want to be recognized. He’s likely someone we know. He’s savvy with the layout and is dodging the cameras.”
Remington’s brow furrowed. “So, he’s still lurking here.”
“Yep, and I bet he’s stashed that mask in his room,” Hannah guessed.
She glanced at Remington. “You’ve got cams everywhere. Why not check?”
“I did. Everyone except those gathered around Bagot was in their rooms that night. It can’t have been someone from inside the villa,”
Remington replied.
“Hmm.”
Hannah gave Remington a friendly pat on the shoulder, looking up at him. “Now it’s up to you, Mr. Lyons. If this guy slips through, who knows what’s next? And while the Comptons might stay on board, others could bail out of fear. Check everyone’s rooms during the horse race hustle.”
With that, Hannah left and Remington stayed put.
What Hannah had told Remington was true but one thing puzzled her: if Remington checked the cams, everyone seemed clear.

But the camera placed in everyone’s suite faced their living room. If someone planned to slip out another way, it would be easy.
“Hannah, snap out of it! Races are starting! Let’s roll!”

Maloney and Bryson appeared, one after the other.
Hannah met Bryson’s relaxed gaze and grinned slightly.
Maloney’s smile vanished.
Wasn’t there anyone to handle these two lovebirds discreetly?
At the racetrack, they suited up in racing gear.
Hannah, dressed and tucking her hair into her cap, stepped out.
A sneering voice piped up. “Nice outfit but it won’t help. You’ll lose to Miss Austin anyway.” Joselyn watched with glee. “You should bail early. Do you think you can really win?”
Hannah just glanced at her, scoffing. “Still better than someone who can’t even get on the track!”
Fired up by Hannah’s jab, Joselyn was about to let loose, but instead, she grinned tight and shot back, “No need to stir the pot, just watch who’s red-faced when you lose the race!”
Hannah gave her the cold shoulder, striding onto the field Like nothing was up.
Originally just a bit of fun, this gig was meant to beat the boredom, but things had got real intense backstage, all thanks to Hannah’s deal with Elsa.
They kept the race rules simple: snag a flag far away, then race back on horseback to win.
